Mamata Banerjee to hold public meeting in Darjeeling on 10th April

DARJEELING, 31st March 2019: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be holding public meeting in Darjeeling on the 10th of April. She will be addressing a joint Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) (Binay-Anit) faction public meeting. She will be the star campaigner for TMC’s Darjeeling Lok Sabha Constituency candidate Amar Singh Rai. Rai is also the sitting Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from erstwhile undivided GJM, a position that he will have to vacate if he wins the Lok Sabha election.

The Meeting will be held at Motorstand near Old Super Market and will be attended by Minister Gautam Deb, Chairman of the Board of Administrators, Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) Binay Tamang and other leaders of TMC and GJM (Binay-Anit) faction.

According to party spokesman Suraj Sharma, the main issues on which GJM would focus during this election included Minimum wage regime, Land Deeds (Parjapatta) and Gorkha Identity.
