Subrata Biswas appointed principal secretary of GTA


KOLKATA, 28 NOVEMBER 2017: The state government today appointed Subrata Biswas as the new principal secretary of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA), secretariat sources said.

Biswas, who was divisional commissioner of Malda will replace Kanwaljit Singh Cheema, a senior state government official said.

Cheema has been unwell and is undergoing treatment.

Barun Roy, who was earlier the principal secretary of the GTA before Cheema, was given the additional charge of the divisional commissioner of Malda, he added.

Roy is also the Jalpaiguri divisional commissioner and secretary of the North Bengal Development department.

Subrata Gupta, who was on central deputation in New Delhi, was made the principal secretary of the state Water Resources Investigation and Development department.
