Run for Gorkhaland flagged from Kalimpong by Late Barun Bhujel’s mother Kumari Bhujel

KALIMPONG, 12 FEBRUARY 2018: Run for Gorkhaland, a 1600 kms non-stop relay marathon from Kalimpong to New Delhi organised by Gorkhaland Sanyukta Sangharsh Samiti (GSSS) was flagged off from Kalimpong by late Barun Bhujel’s mother Kumari Bhujel. Among the 12 runners was a six year old boy.

Kumari Bhujel speaking to ‘The Himalayan Beacon’ said that she was very happy that the ‘Run for Gorkhaland’ relay marathon was being organised by the GSSS. She said that it was a positive move forward to spread awareness about Gorkhaland.

Kiran B.K. President of GSSS said that the Run marked the fact that the Gorkhas had not given up on the issue of Gorkhaland and that the struggle for Gorkhaland was on.

Anjani Bhujel, Spokesperson of GSSS said that Run for Gorkhaland was a part of the Jan Sampark Abhiyan through which the GSSS intends to raise awareness of Gorkhaland in the nation as a whole.
