Allison Robertson was George's first child. [Undated]Ally McGurk writes, "A delightful little girl named after her mother, she was always lovingly known as 'Llison. Sadly, she was never a strong child, and died of diphtheria at the age of about 5. My grandmother [George Patrick Roberson] was heartbroken and put all the little girl's toys and other memorabilia away in a box, known for 3 generations of the family simply as 'Llison's Box. No-one was allowed to open it. Eventually, of course, I did, and found tiny china cups and saucers carefully wrapped in tissue paper, and various other delicate little toys and playthings. There are very few photos of the unfortunate child, but the one above, wearing a solar topee and being conveyed by a rather fine driver in a very posh carriage is very wonderful."
