KALIMPONG, 5TH FEBRUARY 2018: The National Taekwondo Poomsae Coaching Camp for the 18th Asian Games Invitational Tournament came to an end at Kalimpong. The coaching camp had begun on 27th of January. This was the first time that the national level coaching camp for a major international championship had taken place in the hills.
The closing ceremony of the coaching camp was attended by many dignitaries. Dr. Viswanath, District Magistrate, Kalimpong District was the Chief Guest. Ajit Singh Yadav, Superintendent of Police, Kalimpong District was the guest of honour.
The 18th Asian Games Invitational Tournament will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia from the 10th of February. Trilok Subba, the Indian National Taekwondo Team Coach said that players from Uttarkhand, Assam, Mizoram, Sikkim, Haryana, Delhi, Pudducherry will be representing the nation in the tournament. These include Gaurav Singh from Uttarakhand, Shweta Sharma from Assam, Lalthlamuan Puia and La Lfak Zuala from Mizoram, Pema Gyanchen Sherpa from Sikkim, anamika Watre from Haryana, Shilpa Thapa from Delhi, Mamta K. and Selvarasi S. from Pudduchery.
Subba said that the team will do its best to give a good performance.
