Maruti van collides with Truck; Six injured

KALIMPONG, 17 JANUARY 2018: A Maruti van No. WB20B-4538 collided with a Truck while returning to Kalimpong. The van was ferrying family members who had attended Maghey Mela at Teesta. The van collided with a truck near Chitrey Bridge. The Maruti Van was thrown across the slope of a hill about 20 meters and was completely turned turtle. All the passengers were injured including the vehicle driver Kumar Yadav age 30.  The passengers included Rajani Chettri  (18) D/o late L.B Chettri  6) Raju Chettri  (30)s/o lat L.B Chettri  7) Bansikha Chettri  (13) D /o Bishal Chettri  8) Prem Chettri  (18) s/o Purna Chettri  and 9) Dinant Thapa (12). All were admitted to Kalimpong District Hospital. B. Chettri who suffered head injury has been referred to North Bengal Medical College, Siliguri.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at Kalimpong Police Station.
