PRATAP KHATI CONDEMNS BHARATI TAMANG FOR ATTENDING THE BIPARTITE TALK – SAYS IT DEFILES LATE MADAN TAMANG’S MEMORY AND BETRAYS THE GORKHALAND ASPIRATION

SILIGURI, 21 NOVEMBER 2017: Binay Tamang and Anit Thapa both Chairman and Vice Chairman of Board of Administrators (BOA) of Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) attended the Bipartite meeting today held at Pintail Village near Siliguri. The Bipartite meeting was between the State Government represented by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the stake holders in Darjeeling Hills which included besides Binay Tamang and Anit Thapa, Maan Ghisingh and Neeraj Zimba of Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF), Bharati Tamang, Laxman Pradhan and Biplov Rai of All India Gorkha League (AIGL). CPRM and JAP did not attend the meet.
Binay Tamang submitted a Charter of Development for Darjeeling Hills which the Chief Minister accepted and said that there will be no letdown in developmental works in Darjeeling Hills. He also invited the Chief Minister to come to Darjeeling which the Chief Minister accepted and said that she was happy to enter Darjeeling Hills since Pintail Village technical comes with Darjeeling Hills and said that she was looking forward to come to Darjeeling. She also thanked both Binay Tamang and Anit Thapa was smoothly running GTA and thanked the GNLF, AIGL and the Hill MLAs for attending the meeting and sharing their thoughts with her.
She said that normalcy and peace was restored in Darjeeling Hills and that developmental works were being initiated by the State Government and the GTA.
Meanwhile, Pratap Khati, the General Secretary of All India Gorkha League has condemned Bharati Tamang for attending the Bipartite Meeting. Speaking with ‘The Himalayan Beacon’, Khati said, “Bharati Tamang has not only deceived the Gorkha people but also the defiled the memory of late Madan Tamang who always stood for Gorkhaland which is the aspiration of people all over the region, Gorkhas and non-Gorkhas.” He also said that by standing along with the State Government she has caused great harm to the Gorkhaland Movement and the demand for the separate state of Gorkhaland.”
