Chhatrey Subba with his wife Monica in Kalimpong after his release from Jalpaiguri jail in September

Kalimpong, Feb. 17: Chhatrey Subba has ruled out joining the Gorkhaland Task Force but would welcome its support in his fight for Gorkhaland.

The GTF, an organisation of five outfits opposed to the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, was formed last year to lobby for statehood. Chhatrey, the president of the now dormant Gorkha Liberation Organisation, said not all in the GTF were true soldiers of Gorkhaland.

“I had not thought of starting an agitation for Gorkhaland after looking at the task force. If they want to lend their help to my struggle for Gorkahland, they are welcome to do so. However, not all in the task force are the right sort of people,” he said.

The GTF, which is made up of the Bharatiya Gorkha Parisang, ABGL, CPRM, Gorkhaland Rajya Nirman Morcha and the GNLF (C), has been touring the northeastern states for the past few weeks to garner support for Gorkhaland.

Following the recent spat between Morcha president Bimal Gurung and Chhatrey, the GTF had reportedly asked the veteran Gorkha leader to join its “non-violent” struggle for Gorkhaland.

But Subba, who was the chief of the Gorkha Volunteer Cell — the militant wing of the GNLF during the Subash Ghisingh-led Gorkhaland movement of the 1980s — complained that there was a lack of accomplished political leaders in the hills and people committed to the cause. “It is my duty to fight for Gorkhaland,” he said.

Immediately after his release from jail in early September, the 71-year-old Subba had hinted that he would quit politics owing to his old age. But since then, he seems to have had a change of heart and expressed his willingness to lead the agitation for Gorkhaland, provided he got the support of the people. Chhatrey had been in jail for more than a decade for allegedly masterminding an assassination bid on GNLF chief Ghisingh.

“If I don’t get the support (of the people), I can’t do anything,” he said last week. In fact, over the past few days, Chhatrey has been engaged in a verbal duel with the Morcha president.

Chhatrey said the Morcha could not be expected to lead an agitation for Gorkhaland since it had already settled for the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration.

“How can the Morcha violate the pact (GTA) it willingly signed and start a movement for Gorkhaland? Nobody seems to be aware of this,” he said.

Chhatrey also accused the Sikkim government of helping the Morcha, despite knowing fully well that it had compromised on Gorkhaland.

Chhatrey’s wife Monica accused the state government of remaining silent on her complaint against the Morcha president who, she said, had openly threatened her husband at a meeting in Sibchu on February 8.

“I had lodged a complaint with the Kalimpong police against the threat issued by the Morcha president but it has not been acted upon,” she said.

Using the metaphor of an eagle pouncing on a chicken, Gurung had warned Chhatrey at the Sibchu public meeting that he would be picked up in the same manner if he were to create violence in Kalimpong. The Morcha president, however, had also said that perpetrators of violence would then be handed over to the government.

Sources in Kalimpong police confirmed receiving a complaint from Monica. “We registered a general diary on the basis of her complaint and forwarded it to the Nagarkata police station in Jalpaiguri since Sibchu falls under its jurisdiction. There was nothing actionable in the complaint,” said a source.

Jalpaiguri police chief Sugata Sen said he was yet to receive any such complaint. “So far as my knowledge goes, the complaint has not yet come,” he said over the phone.

  1. Aam Janata Says:

Chhatray ko ma aat cha tara brain chaina, even he cannot do anything but talk big!

  2. Kalimpong ko chora Says:

    yo monica darling ho hai

  3. Monica ko fan Says:

Can monica be as effective as Asha Gurung. I think Asha has played a great role in the rise of Bimal Gurung but by the looks of it Monica does not have it in her.

  4. Rajneesh Says:

Complaint will have no action as usual, when people can get away with murder inspite of evidence against them then what will Kalimpong ko thulla do? Dhut tere ki.

  5. ZYX Says:

    @#1
Brain ta GJM ko neta haru ma pani chaina!
Gorkhaland ko badli ma GTA thapnu thulo murkhata ho.

  6. ZYX Says:

Bimal is the next AGENT OF BENGAL in the Darjeeling hills. Earlier it was Ghisingh. Both do not want Gorkhaland.

  7. BigJoe Says:

#6 And you are the AGENT OF NEPAL in Bengal.

  8. shaktshi Says:

    DOWN with the GTA supporters!

  9. jtm Says:

    Including Mamata, Chidambaram and all?

  10. jtm Says:

Is that how Chhatrey looks like? Colored Mutton chop sideburns, upturned whiskers? Interesting.

  11. shiva Says:

The cheap comments by this jTM has started again.Put a lid on it coz it stinks.

  12. HPD Says:

Whatever may be the color of Chatrey, he is still the thoughts of people come live to action.

Time has come beyond some action to be taken, will we just stare?

  13. jtm Says:

So he is the new face of the andolan? Whether my comments stink remember the gorkha issue concerns all indian gorkhas and we have a right to look closely at every leader you’ll put up and put down. In fact the bungling handling of the issue since decades indicates a holy mess whether you’ll put up ghising or gurung or subba. Frankly you’ll are doing nothing but fighting amongst yourselves or competing in gundagiri. Time to empty the garbage. Instead of just adding to it. It is overflowing badly and rotting the whole community.

  14. jtm Says:

How many more leaders with arrested or not arrested murder charges?

  15. wakkai Says:

Jtm you are adding to the rot and rubbish.Don’t judge the book by it’s cover.Your criticism of Chattrey is not only cheap but very superficial.I mean what is the point of making a comment about Chattery’s looks ? The Gandhi dynasty according to many people look “good” but good-looks r not good enuff as everyone can see what they have done to the country. If you think u r so good why don’t u come forward and take the lead ? Sitting somewhere in Bhagsu and ordering and muddying people around ,some nerve u have.
As for fighting amongst ourselves what do you think you are doing?

  16. Thukkai Says:

Ani ta kata basay ko chas wakkai ghamanday. What hav u done wind bag?

  17. shaktshi Says:

Bimal Gurung, leader of murderous GJM party, who killed MT is himself the biggest perpetrator of violence.Threatening everyone.
If it is anyone who needs to rot in jail it is you Mr.Bimal Gurung!
Remember,a person who lives by the sword dies by the sword Mr.BG!

  18. shaktshi Says:

BG is definitely unfit for state struggle for all he is seen doing these days is fiercely fighting for GTA which is the same as DGHC.
Eta GTA thaapnu lai busy uta “Gorkhaland Gorkhaland” bhandai. You cannot have your cake and eat it too Mr.Bimal Gurung.

  19. Thukkai Says:

thukkai cha bimal mathi sala gta afno pin ma hal

  20. jtm Says:

Godgiven looks and cultivated looks are different things.

  21. Rakesh Gurung Says:

The fact is that all the leaders presently speaking up for Gorkhaland are unfit to rule and these includes BG, RG, Chhatray including others. These are all goons turned leaders. The reality is that we Gorkhas do not have a good leader who s not just a good leader but also good human being. You cannot hope lemons to be as sweet as oranges.

  22. Rakesh Gurung Says:

Chhatray is not a good person nor is Bimal Gurung. Everybody knows that Chhatray ran militant training camps in the forests of Kalimpogng subdivision. Mamata Banerjee has only released him so that he could leverage with Bimal Gurung and that is a fact.

  23. ZYX Says:

    Who is Chhatra Subba?

    Born: 1945, Rousey, Kalimpong
    Education: Class 8, SUMI, Kalimpong
    Career: Army
    Nature: Disciplined, religious; impulsive and

Gorkhaland movement: Resigned from the army in 1985. Joined the Gorkhaland movement led by Ghisingh with the Gorkha Volunteer Corps (GVC) from 1986 to 1988.
When Ghisingh signed the DGHC accord in 1988, Subba opposed him and went on to found the Gorkha Liberation Organization to demand Gorkhaland.
Inmplicated of bringing Naga militants to train GLO cadres in 2000 at Tinkataraia, Jaldhaka. Not proved.
In 2002, Subba along with 13 people (like Amar Lama, Norden Lama, Mohan Sharma (all from ABGL), Dimple Dewan, Sharan Dewan, Gunjey Lama, Shyam Bahadur Karki, Kumar Chettri, Vijay Chettri) were arrested for the attack on Ghisingh (2001) at Sat Ghumti, Pankhabari Road, Kurseong. Some were released, while Chattrey and others spent 9 years in jail, first in Darjeeling and then in Jalpaiguri.
Refuses the offer from CPRM to contest the MLA election from Kalimpong from jail in 2011.
All released from jail in September 2011.
After coming out of jail, Subba speaks openly against the GTA saying that Bimal Gurung is misguided by the people around him.

  24. ZYX Says:

    Correction in #21 (line 5):

“impulsive but determined; well versed in national and international politics”

  25. shaktshi Says:

GTA and Gorkhaland are different things. What majority of Gorkhas want and have been clamouring for is Gorkhaland.I’m afraid BG has failed.
At least Chattery Subba has been a relentless fighter for Gorkhaland, never ever willing to play ball like the others have in the past .We must first see/focus on the good qualities of each other instead of picking on each other (eg. making comments on people’s looks),that’s the way to go forward.

  26. Son of Darjeeling Says:

Chattrey Subba, He is the man who is going to bring Gorkhaland in Darj. So people of darj do lend ur unequivocal support to this man. Once I had a chance of meeting this man when he had recently formed his outfit G.L.O. He is truly the “Son of Darjeeling” He is the only one who have openly spoke Agianst G.N.L.F and G.J.M.M. He is the only one who have not joined anyother political party even though he was offered a place in their party. Bcoz he knows most of the party just want to earn money by playing with the sentiments of people. And even now G.J.M.M. must be planning a move to take him away from the political arena so that their cash flow from bengal govt do not get interrupted. Well Mr Chattrey Subba do lead a fight for Gorkhaland and my 100% support is with u. Jai Gorkha.

  27. jtm Says:

Thanks for the inputs. If people are going to get defensive about his sideburns they are making him out to be another Moses. And that ain’t healthy.

Chalo, I’ll spread the word around of the new hope but dont even blink if you find that he has unexpected style or whisper about his hat with an axe. Otherwise the Darjeelingers will lynch you or giving gaalis at which they have become expert now.

  28. shaktshi Says:

Jtm(@13) of course you have every right to look closely at every leader of the Gorkha community but c’mon “colored mutton side chop sideburns, upturned whiskers”(@10)? I was expecting much more from a person of your calibre and standing.

  29. jtm Says:

Look dear sorry to let you down. I dont know much about him and then I see this picture. And i wrote what struck me the most. He is unusual for me. I had heard about Chhatrey during his jail days. And what i imagined him to look like turned out to be completely different. I thought he was some cleanshaven round faced man. Not too many hill people sport such styles.

Anyhow all the best with Chhatrey. I am sure over time I will know what is within the way you’ll see him. And comeon this style of sideburns is called mutton chops and there ain’t wrong with it. A style is a style. and he obviously likes it and so sports it.

If you believe that Chhatrey will deliver then cheers from me too.

  30. jtm Says:

and i promise never to mention those …………..again

  31. JSD Says:

Subhash Ghising -> Bimal Gurung -> Chattrey Subba

People of Darj -> People of Darj -> People of Darj -> Black Sheep -> Herd Mentality

  32. Bishal Says:

sexy style for a 71 year old. he he

  33. shaktshi Says:

Jtm please don’t put words in my mouth ,when did I ever say what I believe or don’t believe in/about Chattrey Subba or whether he will deliver ? All I said was I did not expect such a comment from you because I hold you in high regard.
The reason BG has made a mess of things is because there is no strong opposing voice/voices to make him mend his messy ways. This is because everyone is hesitant to stand up against this dictator BG(Mamata’s ‘son’) who threatens almost everyone who even utters a word against him or against GTA that he is busy trying to promote and thrust down our throats.Chattrey Subba inspite of his ordeals in the past and how how was treated by the state govt. is committed, sincere and strong enough and of course has the balls/guts to let BG know that GTA is a NOT the same as Gorkhaland. With the political climate so dire here there is not much to develop and nurture political talent. We are not exactly spoilt for choice out here, that is the reality and Chattrey Subba so far has proven to be have integrity and honesty ,qualities which are pretty rare these days in the political scene. That’s all.One cannot predict the future but I for one always welcome and hope for a strong voice/voices to make sure there are checks and balances.

  34. jtm Says:

it is obvious that darj leaders–ghising, gurung and now subba are voluntarily or involutarily playing in the hands of higher manipulators. MT gets killed (in a seemingly deliberate public way) and there is no trial as such except arrest of some nicoles, etc who seem to disappear. suddenly subba is released after so many years. there are factions playing major divide and rule.

the issue with Gl is that no decision canbe taken as one group proposes and another disposes. groups are very busy visiting offices against each other whether in state or central or some now in the neast. Someone gives a memorandum for GL and another moves in saying no hold it when we come to power you give it to us later. For a layman its like Darjeeling believes in someone props him up skyhigh (till he or she loses his head) and then pulls him down. Why?

kindly be more conscious of this.

you and me quarelling over someone’s…………………is disappointing for me too.

  35. jtm Says:

Its amusing to read GTF claiming that they are clean and have no personnel with police records (so that is an indirect remark aboiut Chhatrey isnt it).

So what is the scenario? GJMM Vs GLO vs GTF? Eventually two will pair up between the 3.

  36. shaktshi Says:

Everyone can see what you are saying jtm.So what do you think is the solution to the present mess we’re in?

  37. jtm Says:

I dont have any solution because i didnt create the problem. And if that means that I cannot speak either then so be it.

  38. shaktshi Says:

    Whatever.
I thought the problem of identity was yours too.

  39. jtm Says:

There are two kinds of identity crisis
    one between the Nepal-speaking indians
the other between the Nepali-speaking indians vs non-Nepali speaking Indians.

I would have solved the former first before tackling the latter
I would have first focussed on culture togetherness, knowing each other, mutual social understanding and benefit programs before gung-ho straight into the political battles.

Frankly my equation with fellow nepali-speaking Indians is more uncomfortable than with Non-Nepali speaking Indians.

  40. Rajneesh Says:

Chhatrey’s may be a true son of the soil but age certainly is not in his side. I hope he can see Gorkhaland during his lifetime. Meanwhile junta can celebrate GTA…… ladduuu khau.

  41. shaktshi Says:

Jtm I guess it is easy to say whatever you say from wherever you stay making your comments untouched, but we in Darjeeling are the traumatised ones who constantly have to face the backlash and bear the consequences of this issue whether we like it or not, whether we chose it or not.To make a rather long and complex situation short,it can be a rather complicated situation to even be able to have the luxury to choose in which sequence we should go about it.Have you had a friend who got killed in a police firing when out in a protest march? He was barely 19. The whole situation is very complex and one cannot so easily and just simply divide it into two kinds or three kinds or whatever!
Have you ever been or stayed in Darjeeling to get to know the Darjeelingeys?
I have been to Nainital and was absolulely delighted to see and could connect instantly with the Gorkhalis there.Don’t know how but I could relate to them effortlesssly. Too bad your “equation” with fellow Nepali speaking Indians is uncomfortable,I guess everyone is different but for a while I thought we had something in common inspite of our differences but I guess I was wrong.

  42. jtm Says:

Look Shakshi. I think first of all you have gone too serious over a ref to someone’s sideburns. If you want to burn bridges with one of the very few non-darjeeling Gorkhalis who has been actively involved in Gorkhali support matters, pl go ahead. But I really dont think losing friends and well-wishers is worth it over politicians who will come and go, whether it be ghising, gurung, subba or whoever. Goes to prove how ‘divide and rule’ is working so perfectly.

Uncomfortable with Nepali-speaking people because these days in groups here and there they have defined their identities along with allegiance to their leaders. Politics is fine but frankly dont get so hyper that a ref to someone’s moustache or sideburns or belly or dress will have us fighting…losing faith…etc..shows how weak your beliefs are.

Sorry about losing a friend in firing but thats the whole point please dont allow violence in agitations. Either it is Bimal calling for battles or Ghising wanting to unsheath his khukri. All talking violence. Will Chhatrey be able to deal or lead without violence even if provoked?

  43. jtm Says:

BTW how much have you spent time with Gorkhas outside Darj? Chatting with Gorkhalis in nainatal is another thing. Try talking to people who are aware. Their comfort level with you will depend on whether you are a ghising supporter or gurung supporter and now it seems Chhatrey Subba supporter.

  44. shaktshi Says:

    I support GL.

  45. shaktshi Says:

Related to people in Dehradun by marriage.

  46. shaktshi Says:

    Losing faith? Who? You ?

  47. shaktshi Says:

It’s not upto me to “allow” violence when it is unleashed by the state govt.

  48. shaktshi Says:

It’s NOT as trivial as you have suggested about someone’s sideburns ,the issue here is far more deeper and serious.
And talking about side burns I’m not into burning bridges considering the fact that we live in a tinderbox situation.
I leave it upto you to understand and decide what you want to do about “Gorkhali support matters” but I for my part expected much more understanding and depth from you, but then again I guess I was wrong? I sincerely hope it is not the case.

  49. jtm Says:

Perhaps the discussion would have been more useful for others if was based on the merits and demerits of Chhatrey Subba’s ability to improve the ‘gundaraj’ mess rather than my demerits or merits. After all this is a blog.

  50. shaktshi Says:

Ya but someone started off with comments ridiculing his looks which is not very useful in the situation we are in.

  51. GL Says:

we all can wish that our leader was
    as handsome as Rajeev Gandhi
    as educated as Manmohan Singh
    as articulate as Barack Obama
as physically strong as Vladimir Putin

… but do we want a Mr. Congeniality leader or do we want a leader who will fight for GL? Ghising has failed, Bimal has failed and lets see what Chattrey does.

  52. jtm Says:

In nepali there is a ref called ‘chipki jaanu’on some point.
However, if the GTA is what is bothering you, my feeling is that the implementation is badly stuck and might not even happen. Mamata has stated the matter is stuck with the govt (read TOI last week), the GOI and mamata are not on good terms these days and most of all Mamata herself is gaining substantial criticism from Kolkatans on hers and madan mitra’s remarks on the Park Street rape case.

Reference to an ‘Anglo-Indian’ lady, ‘mother of two drinking in a night club’, etc has gone down very badly with the thinking public and affected her credibility. She is gaining reputation of a lost ‘Alice in Wonderland’ with her ideas of playing rabindra sangeet at traffic signals, naming water tanks after people, etc.

Look around the world will you?

Watch the weather my friend and you might not have to panic.

  53. Rajneesh Says:

Chhatrey need good boxers like Saif Ali Khan in his team. Recently he has shown his punching skills on couple of NRIs in Taj Mumbai, one of which was a triple bypass surgery grandad. Bravo Saif.

  54. Rajneesh Says:

….from 53… All this because Saif and his guests (including Kareena)were asked to keep the noise down in the dining room. In a flurry he broke an NRI’s nose and punched the granddad on his cheek. He is now a true Indian nawab, nobody can touch him. Police case is going on. He should be invited to Darj to train the GLA ha ha.

  55. Junta Says:

    BIMAL GURUNG JINDABAD
BIMAL GURUNG IS HEART OF DARJEELING
    WE WANT GTA
ALL CHATREY BAJE SUPPORTERS SHOULD UNDERSTAND HE IS ALREADY 71, WILL HE COMPLETE 72? MAY BE IN COMING YEAR DECEMBER……AS YOU KNOW DARJEELING IS SO COLD DURING DECEMBER AND VERY BAD TIME FOR ALL OLD BAJEs!!!!

  56. voice of darjeeling Says:

    BIMAL GURUNG GOONDABAD GOONDABAD
BIMAL IS THE BUM OF DARJEELING
    WE DONT WANT GTA
ALL BIMAL SUPPORTERS SHOULD UNDERSTAND THAT BIMAL DOES NOT WANT GORKHALAND AND WHO LIVES BY THE SWORD DIES BY IT!!!!!

  57. shaktshi Says:

It is the political culture at present which seems to be degrading that bothers me “my friend”.Many decades have been wasted and gone down the drain filled with violence and blood-shed for what ??? The same thing as DGHC with a brand new name and the same bunch of terrorizers with a new party name ??? Who are YOU to tell the people of Darjeeling what to do when you say “not to panic”? Only the wearer knows where the shoe pinches.Have you ever been in Darjeeling to know what we had to go thru’ and are still going thru’? Don’t get me started out here……

  58. shaktshi Says:

With such a political landscape it is getting more and more problematic to nurture new good political talents so that people have more choice. Most of the youth just leave Darjeeling after they pass Class 12(H.S.) and leave for further studies elsewhere simply because there are no universities in the hills and of course the troubled political scene creates an unstable atmosphere for talented people to want to stay on if they want to further their careers. Most of the youths never come back to Darjeeling for obvious reasons.I am not too sure if anyone has noticed this change in demographics which could have consequences.
I was just reading about a census taken in the 19th century, of Darjeeling here in HB itself.I wonder what the figures NOW have to say ? We cannot afford to waste and lose time.Time is of the essence “my friend”.Hope you understand.

  59. jtm Says:

Youth everywhere are leaving for newer pastures wherever there possibilities of jobs available not just darjeeling. Does not mean there is trouble. Gorkhas for one were and are were always one going far and wide. We are an adventure race. Only children of shopkeepers have to sit in their family shops or those with local govt jobs. IT publishing media hospitalty telecom are the industries which are offering jobs. You tell me does darj offer good jobs in these sctors? Today all kids want to study outside after class X11. Is that a problem or progress. Who am I to speak on darj? That’s a cute qs

  60. Samar Says:

This is wat u get from darj people jtm, let them rot in their sewer hole dat is wat they deserve wen they choose leaders like BG

  61. jtm Says:

    Divided and ruled.

  62. Marcus Says:

Beware, the commies, your benefactors, have been booted out by the people of Bengal, whom they tried to keep in the dark for decades. The truth is unraveling and that day is not far when not only people of Bengal, but the Govt of bengal and India will brand you people as ungrateful foreigners and show u the door to Gorkhaland i.e. Nepal.Go back to your country, Gorkhas are Nepalis. You are foreigners, you will never be one of us.

  63. shaktshi Says:

Some people are too thick to understand and resolve problems.Full of ego, they simply cannot see or understand, all they want to do is prove their point which is hardly useful.
Ya Jtm keep on supporting BG and the GTA!

  64. shaktshi Says:

Being united for one goal is one thing but being united even if the person who is posing as the “leader” leads one to way away from the goal is something else which to me makes no sense. Not very sensible are you?

  65. shaktshi Says:

Ever wondered why BG is being pampered and shielded by the state govt. and showered with resources?
Have you ever wondered why MT was murdered in broad daylight and the killers are still at large enjoying life?
Ever wondered why Chattrey was punished for an unproven crime ? 9 yrs of his life!

  66. jtm Says:

Shakshi By making a wild personal accusation on a public blog about me supporting GTA and GJMM, I am sorry you are being terribly insolent. The fact of the matter is there are two factions in Darjeeling….supporting GTA and not supporting GTA. I belong to neither. My concern is all the different and different groups alongwith their followers which includes citizens of Darjeeling coming to a violent showdown with each other. I have always been an observer not a participant. Taking sides between Gorkhali factions is the last thing I wd ever want to. I’d rather be out. You’ll sort it out. Gurung, Ghising Chhatrey have all been created, elected by you’ll. I have never cast my vote or played supporting roles with any of them. I ahve never even once shouted Jai Gurung or jai ghising or Jai Chhatrey anywhere. Or even held any of their flags or been a signatory to any papers. You probably have so you are involved. My role here alongwith others is observe and comment because my identity as a Gorkha is being flogged around. As you rightly sAId my identity is not with Darjeeling but with the cause at large mostly non-politically. Frankly the line of leaders you’ll have paraded are nothing much for the Centre or opposition to worry about. These leaders at most have gathered people for violent activities where the people of darjeeling themselves have suffered.

I at least voice my mind on HB. Most of your critics dont. They laugh abt the ‘jokers’ as someone recently told me.

Attacking me personally is a small drop in the ocean. What are you going to do about the multitude who are laughing but you cant see them?

  67. shaktshi Says:

Same goes for you too( yr comment @29) jumping to conclusions about me.

The reason Darjeeling is not able to create good leaders has been explained by me but you refuse to see it.Let me say it more simply for you ,the bright intelligent kids are all gone for good from Darjeeling because the atmosphere is just not good for growth and personal/career development thanks to the carelessless of the state govt. Most of the ones left behind are old folks, children and the workers in the Tea Gardens who are manipulated by diabolical opportunist school drop-outs posing as “leaders”.The vicious circle continues.

If you feel your identity as a Gorkha has been abused by these ruthless politicians please by all means get together(with all the others instead of laughing around, because trust me this is no laughing matter my dear)and let them know that you guys are not involved and you all should not be dragged into their selfish schemes.

Also, thanks a ton for letting me know that the rest of the Gorkhalis in India have been standing behind us just like a tower of feathers(laughing away).Appreciate the care and concern.Good to know that we have always been on our own,at least we won’t have any false hopes.

  68. Debasis Says:

you idiot nepali womens what can be expected from you but to fight among yourself, that is why you are ruled by bengal government. Do you get my point or just busy with your thick egoes like your brain.

  69. Debasis Says:

Go and cook meat for your husband and also clean the house.

  70. jtm Says:

    see shakshi

  71. jtm Says:

the gorkhalis who are laughing are from your side shakshi. my side do not know too much

  72. Junta Says:

bimal guring jindabad, GTA hunchai huncha

  73. shaktshi Says:

  74. shaktshi Says:

I don’t care who is laughing or who is crying because seriously we have nothing really much to lose out here.

  75. shaktshi Says:

Wouldn’t GL be useful for all the Gorkhalis all over India?
The people in Darjeeling have sacrificed a lot for this.
Just criticizing and making useless comments(eg.about people’s looks) is not really helpful and adds insult to injury and trivializes the seriousness of the situation.

  76. g@dfly Says:

    Debasis,

only a hijra gets in between women’s conversation. Now, go and hide your head between your spindly, chicken legs and chant, “forgive me for my inbred chauvinism for I was castrated quite young.”

After you’ve done that and thought about some misogynist remark typical of your kind.

    ———————–

Come back again and vindicate your true ‘hijra’ nature once more.

  77. jtm Says:

How will GL be useful for the all the gorkhalis in India? Pl elaborate.

  78. jtm Says:

My comment on chhatrey’s sideburns was not meant to be useful anyway. HB is full of all kinds of comments starting from Comment no 1 on this line. In any case this dfiscussion is now becoming a beard for chhatrey.

  79. Debasis Says:

76 dear G@ndfly as your name suggest the place where you come from, at lest hinjra is human ;)

  80. shaktshi Says:

Jtm it is upto you to decide whether GL is useful for you or not.

  81. jtm Says:

Give me the points and then yes of course I will decide if GL is useful to me or not? What kind of GL? The picture has changed dramatically.inter-murders, inter-fighting,inter-violence, khukri-weilding youth, living in fear. You’ll need a total social change before being ready for statehood. Many darjeelingers says that the atmosphere is not as bad as projected out to be but going by your mood it seems to be the opposite. This is a democractic country and going by the sweeping victory of gjmm candidates in your last elections, what does it mean? The power is in your hands.

  82. ZYX Says:

Chhatra Subba may not be educated or articulate but he is sincere and that counts a lot in these days when every neta is for sale.

Ghisingh – sold in DGHC; sold in Sixth Schedule Council
Bimal – sold in DGHC; sold in GTA

“Maile afno pet palnu dudh bechey, pani bechey, tara maato ra jaati bechina” – Chattra Subba

Can Bimal say these words? Well, since he has lost all self-respect, he could say, but will people believe him? No. No matter what Bimal does, he will never receive the same respect he received from the janta.

  83. shaktshi Says:

Jtm it’s your call ,it’s your life,it’s your decision what you want to do about GL.
GL is not only my dream. It’s not my job to sell/market GL ,it’s something much more sacred, at least for me!
India being a democracy is the biggest joke,a big scam. How naive you are!

  84. g@dfly Says:

    Q.E.D.

    ======
    Castration complete. :D

  85. g@dfly Says:

    Coming back to GTA.

    GTA = Hogwash

Can scarcely believe that the “Think-tank” of GJMM concoted this himalayan misadventure.

    ==========================

Such a setback to the people’s movement for GL. The hare sure decide to take a mighty nap right at the finishing end.

Sure looks like insider trading to me–but then horse-trading sure is the obvious constant of politics.

Tragic that a whole generation has lost its moral bearing and only dark days beacons you ahead in the once pristine hills.

  86. hillyfolk Says:

Mamata’s pet d o g Bimaley threatening Chattrey .Does this Bimaley know anything else than just threatening ????? Someone mention democracy? Democracy in the hills, hahaha, what a joke.In the meantime this turd Bimaley is trying whatever he can to get rid of anyone who is at least GOOD.Mamata better be wise now and put yr pet in jail !!!!!!!!!!

  87. Unity Says:

Why the GJM and leader Bimal wants to take all the glory? Why Bimal is so jealous of other leaders and parties and always wants to threaten and maybe get rid of them just like he got rid of Madan Tamang ? Why Bimal cannot cooperate with the rest ? GL is not only Gjm’s movement. And where does he get all the money that he distributes like sweets?Does he have a good job or business in Darjeeling?

  88. Junta Says:

oye sakshi dont bark too much like vatua kukrini, before you were bimal fan and now after 3 yrs later you became fan of poor old man chatrey, after some years later u will become fan of someone else, you know nothing about politics so keep quite, cook masu for your kids and husband, keep a BIG POSTER of bimal daju and asha bahin in your room and do puja every evening.

  89. shaktshi Says:

Junta first learn to spell correctly and have at least a civilized manner before you tell others what they know or don’t know. You don’t know zilch about me so no need to cook up false stories.
Plus you are nobody to tell me what to do.

  90. jtm Says:

Hi Shakshi, You seem to have many thumbs up and me many thumbs down. You must be pleased with yr votes. I am also pleased with my votes.

    Truth is bitter.

  91. jignesh Says:

feri yo wakkai lagdo aaimai ayecha hai.

  92. shaktshi Says:

    Dear Jtm sis,
You may find truth to be bitter but for me truth is the truth and I am not afraid to face it,one has to find ways to go on and never get bitter.Love, your sis,Shaktshi :)

  95. jtm Says:

  111. jtm Says:

I dont need to change and have never changed my name. Come on you know I do have guts despite being wakka-wakka. Cheers for Shiva Thapa

  112. chuki Says:

  113. Rajneesh Says:
