DARJEELING, 18 OCTOBER 2017: Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) President Bimal Gurung has urged Gorkhas all over the nation to unite and fight for the separate state of Gorkhaland in a democratic and non violent. In an audio released to the media he has said that the police that there was a gun fight between the police and the Gorkhaland Personnel (GLP) was not true and that there were no GLP with weapons of any sort at the said camp or any where else. Addressing the people directly, Gurung said that he could never thing of betraying the people by leaving the path of non-violence. He said that he was committed to non violence and democracy and that he was being framed by the State Government. All the so called weapons that were said to have been found at the camp were those that had been surrendered by Kamtapur Liberation Organisation (KLO) cadres and were planted by the police, he said.
He ultimately added that he would appear before the people by the end of this month as he had promised earlier.
