Dr. Adon Rong Gong to receive 21st Parasmani Award



KALIMPONG, 2 JANUARY 2018: 21st Parasmani Award will be awarded to 78 year old Litterateur Dr. Adon Rong Gong. Speaking to ‘The Himalayan Beacon’, Balbhadra Sharma, Secretary, Nepali Sahitya Adhyan Samiti said that the decision had been taken to award Dr. Gong with Parasmani Award for his lifelong service to Nepali literature.

Dr. Gong has been engaged in literature since 1956. He will be handed over the Award on 26th February during a public function. The award will include a cash prize of 15 thousand and one Rupee and a citation. this year 15 litterateurs had submitted the name of 41 writers and poets.

Dr. Adon Rong Gong was born on the 17th of April 1940 in Pradhan Nagar at Siliguri. He published is first work ‘Dhanko Balaharu’ in the Khetipati Magazine in 1956.
