New Delhi, Jun 5:) Congress leader Shashi Tharoor was today summoned by a city court on July 7 as an accused in the Sunanda Pushkar death case after it took cognisance of the police charge sheet in which he was charged with abetting the suicide of his wife.
In a setback to Tharoor, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal while asking the Lok Sabha MP to appear before the court said there exists sufficient grounds to proceed against him for alleged offences of abetment of suicide and committing cruelty towards Pushkar.
Tharoor, 62, dubbed the charges as “preposterous and baseless” and the product of a malicious and vindictive campaign against him that he will “vigorously contest”.
New Delhi, May 30 (ANI): After 16 days of continuous hike, fuel prices on Wednesday witnessed a slight drop.
The petrol prices have been cut down to 60 paise in Delhi and 59 paise in Mumbai while diesel price went down by 56 paise in Delhi and 59 paise in Mumbai.
The revised petrol prices in metropolitan cities are- Delhi: Rs 77.83 per litre; Mumbai: 85.65; Kolkata: 80.47 and Chennai: 80.80.
Meanwhile, the cost of diesel per litre as on Wednesday is Rs 68.75 per litre in Delhi, Rs 73.20 per litre in Mumbai, Rs. 71.30 in Kolkata and Rs. 72.58 in Chennai.
New Delhi, May 29 (ANI): The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will declare its class 10 result on Tuesday at 4 pm.
School Education Secretary Anil Swarup tweeted that “Results of CBSE Class 10 examinations for 2017-18 to be declared by 4 pm on 29th of May, 2018”.
According to the Board, the results will be available on the websites – www.results.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in and www.cbse.nic.in.
The students can also view their results on UMANG mobile application.
Haridwar (Uttarakhand), May 27 (ANI): After becoming India’s most trusted Fast Moving Consumer Goods brand, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali on Sunday entered the telecom sector.
At an event, Baba Ramdev launched Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM cards, in alliance with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
Initially, only the employees and office bearers of Patanjali will be able to avail the benefits of the SIM card.
New Delhi, May 28 (ANI): Petrol and diesel prices continue to touch another peak for the 15th consecutive day, with the key transportation fuel being sold at Rs 78. 27 per litre in Delhi.
The revised petrol prices in metropolitan cities are- Delhi: Rs 78.27 per litre; Mumbai: 86.08; Kolkata: 80.76 and Chennai: 81.11.
Meanwhile, the cost of diesel per liter has also been increased and the revised prices in Delhi are – Rs 69.17 and Mumbai Rs 73.64 per litre.
The Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006, is a key piece of forest legislation passed in India on 18 December 2006. It has also been called the Forest Rights Act, the Tribal Rights Act, the Tribal Bill, and the Tribal Land Act. The law concerns the rights of forest-dwelling communities to land and other resources, denied to them over decades as a result of the continuance of colonial forest laws in India.
Supporters of the Act claim that it will redress the “historical injustice” committed against forest dwellers, while including provisions for making conservation more effective and more transparent. The demand for the law has seen massive national demonstrations involving hundreds of thousands of people.

New Delhi, May 16(PTI) Within 24 hours after Delhi University threw open its admission portal to aspirants, over 43,000 applicants submitted their forms for various undergraduate courses.
“Since 6 pm yesterday, we have received 43,000 applications and there has been no technical glitches reported from our side,” said an official associated with admissions.

The bodies are said to belong to Amos Lepcha (28 years) and Slyvester Lepcha (25 years). Both were Maternal Uncle and Nephew and had been travelling to Bangalore for employment.

Shimla, Feb 3 (PTI) Two brothers were arrested today for allegedly killing two Nepalese in Shoghi, 13 Km from here, police said.
The police have also Rs 2.38 lakh in cash allegedly looted by the two accused from victims as Navin (32), a resident of Ponta Sahib, and Chandra Prakash (19), resident of Renuka, whose bodies were recovered from a ditch, they said.
The deceased were brothers-in-law and worked as driver and conductor of a tempo which has also been recovered.
