BREAKING NEWS: Supreme Court Relief to Bimal Gurung – Government can’t arrest Gurung until next hearing


Today’s Supreme Court Ruling in favour of Bimal Gurung


NEW DELHI, 20 NOVEMBER 2017: In a major breakthrough for Bimal Gurung, Chief, Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM), the Supreme Court has passed order ceasing all coercive action against GJM Chief Bimal Gurung meaning that the State or the Central Government can neither arrest nor pursue any coercive action against Gurung. Gurung would be free to visit any place and travel without restriction.

The Supreme Court order in ‘The Himalayan Beacon’s Possession states that while hearing Writ Petition(s)(Criminal) No(s). 182/2017 for petitioners Mr. Harish N. Salve, Sr. Adv. et al petitioning in favour of Bimal Gurung, ” no coercive steps shall be taken against the petitioner” and that the Court shall make further rulings after two weeks.
