DARJEELING, 7TH FEBRUARY 2018: Bimal Gurung, President, Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) has renewed his resolve to achieve separate state of Gorkhaland on the eve of Martyr’s Day. In a press statement issued from New Delhi, Gurung stated that on the 8th of February was observed as Martyr’s Day in rememberance of those who died in the struggle for the separate state of Gorkhaland. He said that history has to correctly evaluate the sacrifice of also those who laid down their life for Gorkhaland.
He stated that he promises to all the martyrs and the family members of these martyrs that until his last breathe he will fight for the separate state of Gorkhaland. He also stated that until the sun shines in the sky, the ultimate sacrifice of the martyrs will be remembered.
He finally stated that even though he was not personally present in the Hills during the Martyr’s Day, his soul prostrates over the soil where the blood of the martyrs have soaked the ground.
