DARJEELING, 3 FEBRUARY 2018: The 4th Round of All Party Meeting aimed at solving the political uncertainty in Darjeeling Hills will take place on the 8th of February in Darjeeling. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who will arrive in Darjeeling on the 6th of February will preside over the meeting. A majority of parties from the hills are believed to have shown interest to participate in the meeting.
Binay Tamang, Chairman, Board of Administrators, Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) speaking to ‘The Himalayan Beacon’ said that the Chief Minister will be visiting North Bengal on the 5th of February. Tamang said that the Chief Minister will visit Darjeeling on the 6th. She will be participating in a programme organised by Darjeeling Police on the 7th. On the 8th the Fourth Round of All Party Meeting will be held in Darjeeling.
Tamang said that he will be raising certain demands such as release of two months pay of the teachers which were not paid during 104 days strike in 2017, the regularization of casual teachers in the hills among others when meets the Chief Minister.
