6th Indo-Bhutan car rally kicks off from Siliguri

Siliguri, Mar 09: Commemorating 50 years of India and Bhutan diplomatic relations, Indo-Bhutan Friendship Association (IBFA) organised a 3-day long 6th Indo-Bhutan car rally on Friday. IBFA organised the car rally with the help of West-Bengal Tourism Department and Bengal Motor Sports Club of Kolkata. It is also India’s only International Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) car rally. The rally kicked off from Siliguri under Darjeeling district for Bhutan on its long journey of over 400km. More than 30 cars from various parts of the country and six cars from Bhutan have joined the rally. According to the organiser this kind of initiative will encourage the motor sports in the region as well as develop the relation between the two neighborhood counties. The participants will cross jungles, rivers and hills areas during their adventurous rally. On Saturday the 2nd leg will run from Phuentsholing in Bhutan.
